FAAF City was once New York City before we, the four chemical engineers, were working on a project and accidentally poured the chemical into the only water source. People took showers and drunk water from the water source and later they were turning into birds. The people who turned into birds flew away and there were only the four chemical engineers left. The four chemical engineers decided to rename New York City to FAAF (Fabio Alexandra Aleisha Fatou) City and recreate the rules of the city and structure. We the scientist later found a cure that would change the birds back into human form but the side effect was losing there memory.
Each scientist specialized in a specific in different things that they had to teach to different groups of people.
We created a city divided into four fractions based on virtue.
Instead of money we exchanged property or something with value.
There is no social class, everyone is equal.
There are no specific religous groups.

Extra Credit : Ai Wei Wei at the Brooklyn Museum
The Ai Wei Wei exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum was very interesting. Before visiting the Museum I expected to see projects that we did not cover in class, but instead I saw everything we covered in class. Being there I realized that the video was more like background information. All of Ai's artwork shown in the video were in the exhibit as well as more videos that were recorded by Ai himself.
There were a lot of pieces that I would consider my favorite but the one that stood out to me the most was the project called "Straight". The project consisted of 73 tons of steel rebars piled and lined up in a specific order. The tons of rebar were from the schoolhouse that collapsed during the Earthquake in 2008. Ai created this piece to symbolize how the Chinese society pretended how like nothing happened, like the children who died in the schoolhouse during the earthquake, or even the many people who died during the earthquake. The artwork basically represented Ai's concern.
Some things that I thought of while observing "Straight" was how the steel bars were assembled as if was forming a passageway, or like it was imitating a river. The Straight project was placed right beside the artwork were the names of the people who died during the earthquake. It also had the audio to the names. The Ai Weiwei was a very interesting Museum and I would recommend for other students to visit it.

Class # 10
If we had to come up with a few rules i would suggest being a democracy, the people should have a voice and everyone's opinion and perspective should count.

Class #9 Survival
I personally like Michael M interpretation of advancing, escaping and repairing society because he is making a bold statement. Michael M set up a parasite shelter that was over 3.5 feet, which was the limit enforced by the Giuliani administration. Its a quiet statement and it is also a public intervention because it is out in public for everyone to see and also very illegal. It also sends a messager and absolutely sends its point across.
Public Intervention
Watching cartoons gave me the idea of using candy to be apart of my public intervention. In cartoons when people wanted to retrace their footsteps they used objects to retrace their footsteps. i decided to use jelly beans to "retrace" my footsteps going down the steps in my back yard.

Class #5 HW
A way that I would demonstrate what I learned about the styles of art
is that i would gather photos of every moment of my life and put it in
like a time line order. I would be a collage of my life. The pictures
would be in such orders that it would evolutionary. Like the picture
that demonstrates how man kind evolved from monkeys and you would see
each step and view how each features changed.
I would display this collage inside of my home to remind myself how I have changed physically and time flys.

Class #5 Lecture
Janine Antoni's is made out of different items that were sentimental to the people who were close to her. They would a brea of few pieces of the object and twist them together to form a rope.
The meaning of her artwork is to connect everything in her life and have it in one place. In a way it is action art because it is something she is doing physical and making an object come to life.
I think that a person who is completely ignorant to Antoni's work will not have a full understanding of it with out verbal information to assist them. If I were completely ignorant to Antoni's work and i saw her rope I would assume the artist decided to make a long rope made with different objects that I was quite sure of.

Color three different fingers different colors and smudge paper, make prints without lifting finger of paper.

Blog Assignment
Lynda Benglis
The artist's process was ordering 500 pounds of paint in different colors and using vats of rubber latex and pouring them on wax and on to the floor. She did some of this on her studio floor and on other larger studio floors just to see where the paint would go and what patterns and shapes it would make.
The author is comparing her art and the process of it to women, cooking and mixing. The artist says that cooking involves mixing chemicals and tasting and art is the same way.
The final outcome is interesting because it is made up of wax, latex and dried paint, it looks like a dried up spill and it also looks like clay when it is mixed up. It is large in one area and then it becomes smaller which shows the direction of the spill.

Homework#2
The Immature Conception
Guido Reni
Italian Bologna 1627
The artist of this painting is attempting to bear witness of the Virgin Mary
Mary is being viewed as a saint, two angels and people surrounding her appearing as clouds are looking at her angelically.
Oil on canvas
It tells the story of how Mary was viewed during that time period.
It was creative how the clouds weren't just clouds they were also heads of people.
The Vine 1921,1923,1924
Hariet Whitney Frishmuth
The artist bare witness to the period where women danced in great numbers
The work was sculptured out if bronze
The artist communicates the work visually by showing the elegance of dancing
The artist sculptures the model dancing stretching upward and outward in imitation of a living vine.
The Vine most directly relates to ideas of beauty because it is a sculpture of a nude woman who shows elegance in dancing and that is the ideal beauty. The artist uses the elements scale and proportion and rhythm. The artist sculptured it life size that it will appear more real, almost as if the sculpture was dancing in front of you.
The Vine represents the cultural standards of Beauty because it is a nude women with the ideal body and it is pleasing to the eye. Th artist expresses physical beauty. It is an intellectualized version of beauty because the way the sculptured was mask was so eloquently
and it has a flow which makes it calm.
If I were to remake the sculpture I would not make that much of a difference because my idea of beauty is a thing or person that is capturing to the eye and this sculpture is very eye capturing.

Homework #1
One thing I would like people to know about me is that I am a very insightful person. That makes me interesting because I can imagine almost exactly what it feels like to be in another persons shoes. That is probably one of the few reasons why my friends look to me for guidance in different situations even if I had no experience in the situation myself.
If there was one thing I would want to bear witness to is would be the at the time of my birth. I would like to see if it is true that the way that I was born id related to the way I am today or if it plays a part in my characteristics. My mother told me when I was being delivered that I would not want to come out and when I did I took my sweet time. I feel like that relates to me today because I like to take my time with anything I do and the part about me not coming out relates to the my characteristic of being stubborn.
